Ingredients
  

Dry Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp salt

Wet Ingredients

  • 2 eggs at room temperature
  • 1 cup milk at room temperature
  • 1/2 cup melted butter or oil
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Add-ins

  • 1 cup chocolate chips tossed in flour to prevent sinking

Instructions
 

  • Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a muffin tin with paper liners or lightly grease the cups.
  • In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  • In another bowl, whisk the eggs, milk, melted butter (or oil), and vanilla extract until smooth.
  • Gently fold the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients using a spatula. Stir just until combined.
  • Toss the chocolate chips in flour, then gently fold them into the batter.
  • Use an ice cream scoop to evenly fill the muffin cups about ¾ full. Sprinkle extra chocolate chips on top.
  • Bake for 18–22 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
  • Let them cool in the pan for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

For extra flavor, you can add a pinch of cinnamon or a handful of chopped nuts to the batter.
