  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 cup milk or buttermilk
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions
 

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare your cake pan by greasing it well or lining it with parchment paper.
  • In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and baking soda.
  • Cream the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, beating after each addition. Mix in vanilla.
  • Gradually add the dry ingredients, alternating with the milk, until a smooth batter forms.
  • Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 25–30 minutes until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  • Let the cake cool completely before shaping and decorating.
  • Roll out white fondant to cover the cake. Add black fondant for eyes and whiskers, pink fondant for the bow, and yellow for the nose.
