This pan-seared chuck steak is tender, juicy, and packed with garlic butter flavor. Perfect for a quick yet hearty meal, it’s easy to make and pairs well with a variety of side dishes.
Pat the chuck steaks dry with paper towels. Season both sides generously with salt and black pepper.
Heat a cast iron skillet over medium-high heat and add olive oil. When hot, add the steaks.
Sear the steaks for 3-4 minutes on each side, until a golden crust forms.
Reduce heat to medium, add butter, garlic, rosemary, and thyme to the skillet. Baste the steaks with the melted butter and herbs for 2-3 minutes.
Check the internal temperature with a meat thermometer (135°F for medium-rare). Remove from heat and let rest for 5 minutes.
Slice against the grain and serve with your favorite sides.
Notes
For extra flavor, add a splash of Worcestershire sauce while basting. Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
