Ingredients

Meat and Sauce

  • 1 lb ground beef or Italian sausage
  • 1 jar spaghetti sauce 24 oz (680g)
  • 1 can diced tomatoes 14.5 oz (411g)
  • 2 cloves garlic minced

Pasta and Seasoning

  • 12 oz spaghetti uncooked
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 1 tsp dried basil
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes optional

Instructions

  • In a skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef until cooked through. Drain excess fat.
  • Add the browned beef to the slow cooker. Stir in spaghetti sauce, diced tomatoes, garlic, oregano, basil, salt, and red pepper flakes.
  • Cover and cook on low for 4–5 hours or on high for 2–3 hours.
  • In the last 30–45 minutes of cooking, break the spaghetti in half and stir into the sauce. Ensure the noodles are fully submerged.
  • Stir occasionally until the pasta is tender. Add a splash of water if needed to adjust the consistency.
  • Serve hot, garnished with grated Parmesan and fresh basil if desired.

Notes

For a creamier texture, stir in a spoonful of cream cheese during the last 10 minutes of cooking. For extra flavor, add chopped mushrooms or bell peppers.
