Milk and Seasoning

  • 2 cups whole milk warm
  • 1/2 tsp salt to taste
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper freshly cracked

Instructions
 

  • Melt the butter in a skillet over medium heat.
  • Whisk in the flour and cook for 1-2 minutes until golden brown, creating a roux.
  • Slowly pour in the warm milk while whisking continuously to avoid lumps.
  • Cook until the gravy thickens, about 3-5 minutes.

Notes

For a richer flavor, use heavy cream instead of milk. Add crumbled sausage or bacon drippings for extra depth.
