Ingredients
  

Cake Batter

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup butter softened
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 cup milk

Frosting

  • 1 cup butter softened
  • 3 cups powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 tbsp milk adjust for consistency

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and line two cake pans.
  • Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
  • Mix dry ingredients (flour, baking powder) separately, then add to wet ingredients alternating with milk. Stir in vanilla extract.
  • Pour batter into prepared pans and bake for 25–30 minutes. Let cool completely.
  • Prepare frosting by beating butter and powdered sugar until smooth. Add vanilla and milk. Adjust consistency if needed.
  • Frost cooled cake and decorate with sprinkles or toppings.

Notes

For extra flavor, try adding a layer of fruit jam between the cake layers.
