Instructions
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and line two cake pans.
Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
Mix dry ingredients (flour, baking powder) separately, then add to wet ingredients alternating with milk. Stir in vanilla extract.
Pour batter into prepared pans and bake for 25–30 minutes. Let cool completely.
Prepare frosting by beating butter and powdered sugar until smooth. Add vanilla and milk. Adjust consistency if needed.
Frost cooled cake and decorate with sprinkles or toppings.
Notes
For extra flavor, try adding a layer of fruit jam between the cake layers.
