Equipment

  • Skillet
  • Microwave

Ingredients

Burrito Filling

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 packet taco seasoning
  • 1 cup seasoned rice Cook with chicken broth, cumin, garlic powder, and chili powder
  • 1 cup shredded cheese Cheddar, Monterey Jack, and mozzarella
  • 1/2 cup nacho cheese sauce Store-bought or homemade
  • 1/2 cup sour cream Optional
  • 1/2 cup fiesta strips Crushed tortilla chips can work as a substitute
  • 4 large flour tortillas

Instructions

  • In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef until browned (about 5–7 minutes). Drain any excess fat, then stir in the taco seasoning and about 1/4 cup of water. Cook until the mixture thickens.
  • Cook the rice according to package instructions. Add cumin, garlic powder, chili powder, and a dash of salt for extra flavor.
  • Heat the tortillas in a pan or microwave until they’re soft and flexible.
  • Lay out a tortilla. Spread about 1/4 cup of seasoned rice in the center. Add a scoop of beef, followed by shredded cheese, nacho cheese sauce, and sour cream (if using). Top with fiesta strips.
  • Fold the sides of the tortilla over the filling, then roll it up tightly from the bottom.
  • Grill the burrito on a skillet for 1–2 minutes on each side until golden brown.
  • Slice the burrito in half and serve it with your favorite hot sauce or salsa.

Notes

For extra crunch, add more fiesta strips or try adding some diced jalapeños for a spicy kick!
